MANILA, Philippines — The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) officially announced the judges and Voice for Change selection committee for the pageant’s much-anticipated 73rd edition to be held on Nov. 16 (Nov. 17 in Manila) at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco leads the panel of judges come coronation night, which also include Miss Universe Canada 2020 Nova Stevens; Colombian actress, singer, and songwriter Fariana; renowned philanthropist, dentist, and entrepreneur Camila Guiribitey; entrepreneur Gianluca Vacchi; Telemundo host Jessica Carrillo; Miss Universe 1978 Margaret Gardiner of South Africa; fashion designer Eva Cavalli; renowned Brazilian artist Romero Britto; “King of Latin Music” Emilio Estefan; and digital entertainment star Lele Pons.
“Thank you, Miss Universe. Thank you, Lord. My Miss Universe journey began by dressing the extraordinary women who wore the crown — each one embodying beauty, strength, and purpose. I’m honored to take on a new role in this journey, helping to select the next inspiring queen,” Cinco said in an Instagram Story.
Meanwhile, the MUO also revealed the Selection Committee members who will help choose the Silver Finalists and Gold Winners for 2024’s Voice for Change. This initiative showcases the advocacies of Miss Universe delegates.
Each vote cast by the fans counts toward the selection of the Top 10 Finalists.
The Voice for Change Selection Committee are Miss Universe Angola 2023 Ana Barbara Coimbra, prestigious plastic surgeon Dr. Juan Manuel Chaparro, Miss Universe Peru 2020 Janick Maceta Del Castillo, Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2023 Karla Guilfu Acevedo, Miss Universe Thailand 2019 Fahsai Paweensuda Drouin, Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Nola Gabriel, and Miss Universe Nepal 2022 Sophiya Bhujel.
“This year, our judges bring expertise from every corner of the globe, combining their unique insights and dedication to make sure every voice is heard and every impactful message is celebrated,” Miss Universe said in its post.
“Each brings a unique perspective to our judging process, ensuring fair and inspiring results. Let’s celebrate them as they empower each contestant to shine!,” it added.
For her advocacy Miss Universe Philippines Chelsea Manalo brought attention to the challenges faced by children of overseas Filipino workers. Manalo emphasized the importance of empowering children left behind as their parents work abroad to build a better future.
The coronation night will see Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua crown her successor. It will be hosted by Mario Lopez, while Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray will return as behind-the-scenes commentator for the third consecutive time.
