MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon “Marce” will likely exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) either Friday afternoon or evening, the state-run weather agency said.
“Marce will continue moving generally westward and exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility this afternoon or evening,” said Nathaniel Servando, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) administrator.
It was forecast to continue to weaken in the coming days due to the possible dry air intrusion from the prevailing northeasterly wind flow, he added.
Estimated some 100 kilometers west-northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Marce is moving west-southwestward at 20 kilometers per hour (kph) while packing maximum sustained winds of 140kph near the center and gustiness of up to 170kph, Pagasa said in its 11 a.m. bulletin.
