In the wake of Typhoon Kristine, Capital One Philippines, in partnership with Planet Water Foundation, deployed an AquaBlock emergency water filtration system to Barangay San Jose East in Canaman, Camarines Sur.
The deployment is part of Planet Water’s ongoing disaster relief efforts to provide immediate access to safe drinking water in communities severely impacted by natural disasters.
The AquaBlock system draws water from a deep well and purifies it through a four-stage process, supplying safe drinking water to residents of Canaman, where 90 percent of the 36,000 residents were affected.
“The need for clean water in Camarines Sur is both urgent and essential. Partnering with Planet Water Foundation to bring the AquaBlock to Barangay San Jose East allows us to provide families with steady access to safe water at this critical time,” said Capital One Philippines head of country Raoul Teh.
The initiative is part of Capital One and Planet Water Foundation’s broader mission to bring clean water to underserved communities.
Already, 75 water filtration towers were installed across the Philippines, including in public schools. By 2025, the partnership aims to install 100 towers nationwide, with upcoming deployments planned in Quezon, Cavite, Bulacan, Baguio, Camarines Sur, Cebu, and Samar.
