The stage is set for the NCAA Season 100 Final Four round with top-seeded Mapua University taking on host Lyceum of the Philippines University and second seed De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde facing reigning champion San Beda University.
Before the four squads fight for their respective title hopes, here’s a look at the individuals who shone in the elimination round.
San Sebastian College-Recoletos guard Paeng Are eclipsed Lyceum’s John Barba in the scoring leaderboard after amassing a total of 304 points through 17 games for an impressive average of 17.88.
Barba slid to second spot with 17.61 points followed by Jimboy Estrada of Letran (16.76), Joshua Guiab of JRU (16.56), and reigning MVP Clint Escamis of Mapua at fifth with 15.44 markers.
MVP frontrunner Allen Liwag of Benilde is still the top rebounder among the field after collecting 203 boards in all 18 games he played for an average of 11.28 boards per game.
No one came really close to the Blazers’ bruiser with San Sebastian’s Tristan Felebrico coming in at second with 8.89 rebounds followed by Estrada with 7.53, Lyceum’s JM Bravo with 7.0, and Arellano big man Lorenz Capulong with 6.56.
Estrada is also the leading player in assists with 5.82 dimes per game while Greg Cunanan of LPU emerged at second with 5.18 as Are placed third with 4.35 assists. Tony Ynot of Benilde and Escamis were at fourth and fifth spots with 4.29 and 4.0 assists, respectively.
Are also shone in the steals department, posting 2.52 swipes, followed by Cunanan (2.12), Escamis (1.89), T-Mc Ongotan of Arellano (1.72), and Raymart Escobido of San Sebastian (1.67).
Letran’s third-year big man in Kevin Santos maintained his status as the top shotblocker with 2.13 rejections with JRU’s Ivan Panapanaan still at second with 1.28 blocks. Liwag is third in terms of blocks with 1.22 followed by Gelo Loristo of EAC and Capulong with 1.17 and 1.0 each.
