POOR Navotas City residents stand to benefit from the expanded services of the Navotas City Hospital (NCH) with the opening of its intensive care unit (ICU) and specialty clinics.
Mayor John Rey Tiangco announced the NCH’s expanded services during the blessing of the ICUs and the clinics, which was attended by key city officials on Wednesday.
Tiangco said that these added facilities will enhance health care services for the city residents and move the NCH a step higher toward achieving a Level 2 accreditation from the Department of Health.
“From its humble beginnings in 2015 as the city’s first hospital, we have made significant progress. Today, we unlock another level by inaugurating ICU and additional specialty clinics,” the mayor said.
The new specialty clinics include women’s health, gastroenterology, ophthalmology and a heart station equipped with 2D echo and ECG (electro-cardiogram).
“These facilities [could] address the growing demand for medical services in Navotas. While we hope the ICUs remain underutilized — signaling good health among our citizens — we know they will serve as a venue for many miracles, helping patients recover and return to their families,” he added.
Rep. Tobias Tiangco, the brother of Mayor John Rey, hailed the city’s continued investment in health services.
“Every Navoteño deserves quality health care. This expansion is not just about adding infrastructure but proving that public service is about making things happen,” he said.
