MANILA, Philippines — Eight people were injured after the carnival ride they were on went out of control in Naic, Cavite on Thursday.
Police said the revelers were in an octopus ride, one of the carnival features to celebrate the fiesta in Barangay Ibayo Silangan, when the screws came loose, causing a collision among carts.
Rescue teams brought the victims, whose ages ranged from 16 to 25 years, to San Lorenzo Ruiz Hospital for treatment.
Police investigators are determining whether there was neglect on the part of the carnival operator.
