THE Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) confirmed that they found the body of a military lawyer inside his quarters in Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City over the weekend.

AFP spokesman Col. Francel Margareth Padilla said the body of Colonel Rolando Escalona Jr. of the Judge Advocate General’s Service, was found “in the early hours of November 22.”

“The AFP, in coordination with the Philippine National Police and Scene of the Crime Operatives, is currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident,” the AFP said.

It did not say if Escalona took his own life or was killed.

Padilla said that they are coordinating with the PNP “to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
