MANILA, Philippines — Several roads surrounding the Bonifacio Monument Circle (BMC) in Caloocan City will be closed beginning midnight Saturday as part of traffic management plans to commemorate Gat Andres Bonifacio’s 161st birth anniversary.
In a traffic advisory on Thursday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said the road closures will include MacArthur Highway from corner Calle Cuatro to Monumento and Samson Road from corner Lapu-Lapu Street to Monumento.
Roads along Rizal Avenue from the corner of 10th Avenue to Monumento and along EDSA northbound from General Rosendo Simon to Monumento will also be closed.

All four routes will reopen at noon.
“In coordination with the local government of Caloocan authorities, the MMDA will deploy traffic enforcers, members of road emergency group, and mobile patrol unit in the affected area to manage traffic and ensure the smooth conduct of the event,” it said.
It advised motorists and truckers to take alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.
For motorists with light vehicles going from MacArthur Highway headed to Manila, the MMDA suggested turning right to Reparo Road, another right to Kasoy, left to Mango Road, left to Araneta Avenue, right to Heroes Del 96, and left to 10th Avenue.
From Rizal Avenue going to EDSA, motorists may turn right to 10th Avenue, left to 5th Street, and right to EDSA.
From Rizal Avenue to MacArthur Highway, motorists may turn left to 10th Avenue, right to Heroes Del 96, right to Samson Road, left to Caimito Road, and left to MacArthur Highway.
For those headed to Sangandaan from Rizal Avenue, motorists may turn left to 10th Avenue and right to A. Mabini.
From EDSA headed to MacArthur Highway, motorists with light vehicles may turn right to Gen. Rosendo Simon, left to Calle Uno/Calle Cuatro, and right to MacArthur Highway.
