MANILA, Philippines — Apart from showcasing their musicality at their second solo concert on Dec. 6 at the New Frontier Theater, the members of the P-pop boy group Alamat will also promote their respective hometowns at their forthcoming gig.
Called “Ragasa,” it is the follow-up to their previous show, “Dagundong,” which was staged last year. “Ragasa” is directed by direk Paul Basinillo.
“From the name itself, it’s a rush to forward. At this point of our careers, parang marami na rin kaming pinagdaanan. So, this time, we want to show you how we move forward and what we can offer this time, our growth as Alamat,” Jao explained on the show’s concept.
Taneo added that the fans, collectively known as Magiliws, can expect new songs, new remixes and new spices to add up to their performances. “Don’t expect the same repertoire from last year, definitely some new (stuff).”
Aside from this, the boys will also put the spotlight on the various provinces across the Philippines. Alas hails from Davao City, Jao from Pampanga, Mo from Zambales, Taneo from Kalinga, Tomas from Albay, and R-Ji from Eastern Samar.
“Since we came from various parts of the Philippines, gusto naming ibandera ang mga hometowns namin. We want our kababayan to be proud (our provinces),” beamed Jao.
“We want to send the message that if you want something, regardless of where you came from, you can reach your dreams,” added Mo.
Tomas chimed in, “Just like us, we were just dreaming before. And we want to inspire them (concertgoers) like after the concert, they will pursue their aspirations.”
“I’m from Kalinga. If someone like me can do it, I want them to see that they can also do it,” shared Taneo.
“I want them to see kung paano namin inabot yung pangarap namin at aabutin pa namin hanggang sa to the max level na,” said R-Ji.
They told The STAR that performing abroad, in Dubai and Canada, was their memorable career milestone this year. For their Christmas wish, they hoped for good health, more wisdom, wealth, growth and success for the group.
Alamat’s tracks include kbye, Maharani, Day and Night, to name a few.
