MANILA, Philippines — Angkas Chief Executive Officer and Angkasangga partylist first nominee George Royeca sought public consultations with government agencies on concerns regarding motorcycle bikers.
Royeca made the call during a meeting held at the main office of the Land Transportation Office (LTO), where 100 key stakeholders gathered.
“We call for continued nationwide public consultations,” he said in a statement.
“We are ready to work with the LTO, [Department of Transportation], and our government to create meaningful solutions that uplift motorcycle bikers while ensuring a safer and more efficient transport system for all Filipinos,” Royeca added.
The consultation tackled LTO Administrative Order AO-VDM 2024-46 or the guidelines on the immediate transfer of ownership of motor vehicles with existing registration.
“We must ensure that the implementation of the AO-VDM 2024-46 is both just and practical for all stakeholders in order for them to comply especially for those that use motrorcycles as a means of livelihood,” Royeca said in Filipino.
LTO chief Vigor Mendoza said the meeting was held to find ways to make the regulations more inclusive.
