MANILA, Philippines — The government will deploy mobile soil laboratories (MSL) in different parts of the country next year to ensure the sustainable use and management of soil resources as well as enhance crop productivity, President Marcos said yesterday.
A project of the Bureau of Soils and Water Management, the laboratory is a customized 10-wheeler truck equipped to analyze 42 soil parameters.
“This project intends to provide farmers with knowledge and technology they can use in farming,” Marcos said in a speech during the inauguration of the first MSL at Malacañang.
The National Soil and Water Resources Research Development Center at the Lowland Pedo-Ecological Zone in San Idelfonso, Bulacan is expected to get the first MSL.
