President Ferdinand ”Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is expected to sign the proposed P6.352 trillion national budget for fiscal year 2025 before Christmas Day.
This was according to Presidential Legislative Liaison Office Secretary Mark Leandro Mendoza on Monday.
”Yes, kasama… kasama na ‘yung sa budget (Yes, that’s included… the budget is included). Siguro ano (Maybe), before Christmas,” Mendoza said when asked on the expected date of budget signing.
A joint technical working group (TWG) has been formed to summarize the disagreeing provisions of the Senate and the House of Representatives’ versions of the bill containing the national budget for 2025.
The final version of the 2025 national budget will be determined by the bicameral conference committee. Once they report it out, it will be ratified by both houses of Congress.
Once ratified, the bill will be forwarded to Malacañang for Marcos’ review and approval.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
