An aquaculturist of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) was killed in a shooting incident in Panabo City, Davao del Norte on Saturday, according to the police on Monday.
Based on a report from Panabo City Police Station, the 42-year-old victim was a senior aquaculturist of BFAR’s National Mariculture Center.
The victim was inside her vehicle parked in front of a fisheries company when suddenly a male perpetrator wearing a black jacket approached and shot her on the head.
The gunman fled on foot going to the direction of Barangay Cagangohan.
Recovered from the crime scene were two pieces of empty shells believed to be of caliber 9 mm pistol and two pieces of deformed slug of caliber 9 mm.
A hot pursuit operation is being conducted to arrest the perpetrator.
