MANILA, Philippines — Six regions in the country have posted an increase in cases of influenza-like illness (ILI) in the past few weeks, according to the Department of Health.
The DOH said an uptrend in ILI cases has been reported in the Cordilleras, Bicol, Central Visayas, Zamboanga peninsula, Northern Mindanao and the Bangsamoro region.
“Up to 1,445 ILI cases were recorded in these regions from Nov. 3 to 30,” the DOH said.
Although uptrends were recorded in six regions, the number of ILI cases nationwide has decreased.
As of Nov. 30, the DOH recorded a 17-percent decline in the number of cases, or from 200,525 last year to 165,992.
From Nov. 3 to 16, up to 7,571 ILI cases were recorded, which is lower compared to the 7,971 cases reported from Oct. 20 to Nov. 2.
From Nov. 17 to 30, ILI cases nationwide dropped to 3,710, the DOH said.
