AN additional 69 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) were repatriated from Kuwait and Lebanon as tension escalates in the Middle East, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration said Friday.

On Thursday, 60 OFWs returned from Kuwait via Oman through Oman Air Flight WY843, followed by 19 more on Friday from Lebanon via Philippine Airlines Flight PR695, at Terminal 1 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

The OFWs from Lebanon availed of the country’s voluntary repatriation program.

The repatriates were welcomed by representatives of the Department of Migrant Workers and Department of Social Welfare and Development, who assessed their needs.
