A MEMORANDUM of understanding (MOU) has been signed between the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the University of the Philippines (UP) for a housing project that will benefit its faculty and staff.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar told The Manila Times that the MOU he and UP President Angelo Jimenez signed last Monday was part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s flagship Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) program.

After the signing ceremony at DHSUD’s central office, Acuzar and Jimenez inspected the project site in UP Diliman, the agency’s Strategic Communications and Public Affairs Service director Mario Mallari said.

The DHSUD will facilitate the construction of a 4PH building to house its qualified faculty and staff.

“This MOA solidifies our partnership with UP management toward our common goal of providing decent yet affordable shelters in sustainable communities under President Marcos Jr.’s 4PH, this time for the benefit of UP constituents,” Acuzar said.

“We are determined to build a sustainable housing project inside the university property for the benefits of its faculty and staff,” the housing czar added.
