MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. granted gratuity pay to contract of service (COS) and job order (JO) workers in government for this year, Malacañang said Friday.
The provision of additional cash incentives for state workers was contained in Administrative Order (AO) 28, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Dec. 19 by the authority of the President.
Under AO 28, Marcos authorizes the grant of a one-time gratuity pay not exceeding P7,000 will be given to all COS and JO employees.
AO 28 covers all workers whose services are directly engaged through COS and JO by national government agencies (NGAs), state universities and colleges (SUCs), government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs), and local water districts (LWDs).
COS and JO workers who have rendered a total or an aggregate of at least four months of actual satisfactory performance of service, as stipulated in their respective contracts, as of Dec. 15, 2024, and whose contracts are still effective, as of the same date, may be granted a gratuity pay not exceeding P7,000 each.
