THE Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) on Friday commended the Senate for pushing Senate Bill No. 890, or Rightsizing the National Government Act.
The measure was sponsored by Senate President Chiz Escudero and co-sponsored by Sen. Joel Villanueva during the 40th plenary session.
The bill seeks to establish a lean, efficient, and responsive government workforce by streamlining agency operations, optimizing organizational structures and staffing levels.

“The National Rightsizing Program is one of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s top priorities and we in ARTA are here to support it as best we can,” said ARTA Secretary Ernesto Perez.
“In its core, National Government Rightsizing Program aligns with ARTA’s mandate to streamline and improve government efficiency,” he added, noting the measure would enhance interoperability among government agencies and eliminate redundant, overlapping, or obsolete functions, programs and projects.
