The local government of Bacolod City turned over its housing units under the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing program, making it the first locality to complete a 4PH housing building.
Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez led the turnover of Building 1 of the Asenso Yuhum Residences in Arao to beneficiaries. The city government said buyer-beneficiaries of the Building 1 are the first to occupy units under the 4PH Program.
The documentation is underway for additional beneficiaries slated to receive units in Buildings 2, 3, and 4, it added.
“By combining innovation, collaboration, and a focus on uplifting lives, Bacolod is setting the standard for urban housing development in the Philippines,” Benitez said in a press release.
According to the local government, the success of the project stems from the collaboration of the Bacolod Housing Authority (BHA), led by Ma. Victoria Parrenas, and private sector partner WRS Holdings Consortium.
The consortium includes Scheirman Construction Consolidated Inc. and RS Realty Developers Inc., it added.
The 4PH Project aims to build one million housing units annually until 2028 to address the housing backlog in the Philippines.
The DHSUD earlier said there are up to 1.2 million housing projects already in the pipeline. The agency is eyeing up to 3.2 million housing units by 2028. — Anna Felicia Bajo/BM, GMA Integrated News
