Caloocan Bishop Pablo Virgilio Cardinal David called on the faithful to have an open heart and mind during the Misa de Gallo or Christmas Eve Mass at the San Roque Cathedral Parish.
(My brothers and sisters, Christmas calls us to open our hearts and minds, not just our homes. Let us open our souls to greet the Lord by welcoming each other because we are all brothers and sisters.)
David also urged Catholics not to let bad experiences keep them from trusting people.
Echoing Pope Francis, David said everyone is welcome in God’s home.
However, the cardinal said this was not the case in Bethlehem today, where the Israeli government surrounded it with walls.
The walls surrounding Bethlehem were built due to the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
(I think until there are walls surrounding Bethlehem, world peace will not be attained.)
(We will not attain world peace until we learn to break down walls of war and strife against each other based on color, religion, race, gender, or status.) —LDF, GMA Integrated News
