The National Book Development Board (NBDB) is inviting all its registered publishers and self-published authors to apply as co-exhibitors in the 2025 Frankfurter Buchmesse, where the Philippines will be the Guest of Honor.
On Monday, the NBDB posted guidelines on how to apply as a co-exhibitor.
Co-exhibitors must be Filipinos with an active registration with NBDB, while publishers with Filipino-authored books ready for international distribution and rights sales.
They must have rights to the works, English translation excerpts of their nominated titles, display-quality books, robust international presence or a clear global strategy.
Co-exhibitors must commit to attending pre-event meetings, talks and workshops.
They are not allowed to submit AI-generated book covers and content.
Applicants must prepare their NBDB Registration Certificate Number, the publisher’s profile (with a high-resolution logo), their catalog, watermarked PDF files for its top 5 nominated books, a list of titles sold internationally, record awards over the past five years, a marketing strategy, group member profiles, and a three-minute pitch video for one of their nominated titles.
The submission deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 17, 2025, with notifications sent out on Feb. 24, 2025.
A QR code is also provided on the NBDB’s Facebook page for applicants to scan to fill up their application.
The Frankfurt Book Fair will take place from Oct. 15 to 19.
