THE Manila North Harbour Port Inc. (MNHPI) announced the completion of Phase 1 of the NorthPort passenger terminal upgrades, perfectly timed for the holiday travel rush.
The Phase 1 upgrades include modernized restrooms, a revamped departure area, and three new X-ray baggage inspection units that significantly cut wait times at security checks — designed to enhance efficiency and convenience. Integration of passenger terminal fee collection with vessel ticket sales has also streamlined entry procedures, prioritizing passenger safety and ease of use.
Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) General Manager Jay Santiago said, “We are thrilled to move forward with Phase 2, bringing even more advanced facilities to improve passenger comfort and experience. Our commitment to improving NorthPort continues as we work towards a fully modernized and seamless travel experience.”

Phase 2, set to commence in January 2025, will introduce further enhancements, including a modern air-conditioning system, new gang chairs, a renovated concourse area, expanded loading and unloading bays, and arrival areas with charging stations. These updates aim to solidify NorthPort as a passenger-friendly hub for domestic travel.
These initiatives position NorthPort to meet increasing passenger demands while upholding the highest standards of efficiency and comfort.
