A day before New Year’s Eve, shoppers flocked to the Divisoria Market in Manila to get good deals on round fruits and torotot or party horns.

In Mark Salazar’s Monday report on “24 Oras,” delivery trucks unloaded tons of produce as some shoppers bought wholesale to sell in provinces.

Since Divisoria is crowded, wholesalers of rounded fruits used San Fernando Street in Binondo as an extension to sell their products.

Wholesaler Angelo Zamora said some buy their products to sell in Bicol, Mindoro, and Nueva Ecija.

Meanwhile, there are fewer stalls that sell firecrackers.

Some shoppers said they opted not to buy firecrackers since it is dangerous.

Many of them chose to buy a torotot that cost about P20. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
