The Office of the Ombudsman urged the filing of charges against former Budget Undersecretary Christopher Lao and some Pharmally Pharmaceuticals Inc. officials for violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act over the anomalous procurement of P4.4 billion worth of medical supplies in 2020.
According to a report on “24 Oras” on Friday, the Ombudsman also pushed to charge 13 personnel of the Department of Budget and Management – Procurement Service for falsification under the Revised Penal Code.
The personnel allegedly falsified documents in the procurement of surgical masks, personal protective equipment, and other COVID-19 supplies.
