Sundays are typically slow days; however, for the talents of Dragons Entertainment Productions, the first Sunday of 2025 was anything but slow.
On January 5, the Dragon Babies filled Music Box on Timog Avenue with their energy and talent, performing for entertainment writers and vloggers to show they’ve got what it takes to claim 2025 as their year.
True enough, the comedy and sing-along bar, known for bringing endless laughter, transformed into a showcase stage as Bambbi Fuentes and Tin Areola, heads of the talent management team, proudly presented their fresh-faced talents.
The afternoon started with a suave song number by Jace Eusebio, a commercial model, actor, and singer who oozed confidence and charisma reminiscent of Daniel Padilla.
He was quickly followed by the talent group’s second girl group, Irizz, clad in all black, who performed their rendition of Maymay Entrata’s “Amakabogera.” With strong vocals from the group’s main singers, Wynona and Aubrey, and the smooth moves and mesmerizing visuals of Princess, Ginger and Cary, the audience was captivated throughout their high-powered number.
The girls also delivered their original song, “Klaro,” which they previously released on Spotify, solidifying the fact that they have the pipes as well as the looks to succeed in the industry.
Dragons Management’s OG or original girl group, The Gandaras, comprised of Christa, Mira, Elle, Daffne and Kiah then took the stage, pretty and poised in pink.
True to their name, the five group members wowed everyone with their head-turning looks as they showed off their vocal and dance prowess with a sneak peek at their upcoming debut single, “Kiss.”
Their song has all the elements of a hit for its universal vibe as composed by the group’s own members, Christa and Mira. “Kiss” has since been dropped on Spotify on January 10 and is now climbing up the list of the most downloaded tunes.
Meanwhile, the launch further showed that Dragons Management isn’t limiting their focus to girl groups; they are also cultivating promising stars for the small and big screens.
In fact, they proudly spotlighted two award winners on their roster: Khai Flores, who was named Best New Male Actor of 2024 for his roles in the thriller “Ang Mga Kaibigan ni Mama Susan” and heavy drama “Sugat sa Dugo,” which is critically acclaimed as an advocacy film for AIDS Awareness. Flores displayed his boyish charm with a rendition of Orange and Lemon’s “Hanggang Kailan (Umuwi Ka Na Baby)” and delighted the audience that afternoon.
Shira Tweg is Dragon Management’s female acting gem, winning Flores’ counterpart recognition also at the last Star Awards.
The all-around stunner aims to balance her acting and singing career this year while going big in both. With her siren-like voice, Tweg captivated the audience as she sang her two singles under Star Music titled “Pag-big” and “Laro,” both available on Spotify and YouTube.
To round off the winning display of entertainment, Dragon’s Management’s resident singer and dancer, Migs Coloma, ended the evening with an energetic song and dance number, capping off the much-awaited grand launch of Fuentes and Areola’s stable of stars.
The lively afternoon concluded with a lighthearted Q&A session, where the fresh-faced Dragon Babies displayed their unique personalities beyond their performances.
When asked how their lives had changed since joining the talent agency, the resounding reply was they had all become more disciplined and were happy to hone their creativity and skills even more.
Gandara Mira’s answer encapsulated the Dragon Babies’ experience: “I’ve learned that growth is never-ending; it’s something I want to keep doing as I continue in this industry.”
With the undeniable energy, dedication, and talent showcased during the launch, Dragons Management’s rising stars have clearly set the stage for greater achievements this year.
As Mira and her fellow talents embrace their growth journeys, their readiness to work hard and innovate will be their ticket to making waves in the competitive entertainment industry, coupled with the determination and guidance of their seasoned mentors.
