Wellness in the spotlight

For Marquez — best known for roles in the pioneering BL series “Ben X Jim,” as well as “Hellcome Home” (2019) and “G! LU,” self-care is not a luxury, but a necessity.

When asked about his go-to for rest and recovery, Marquez didn’t hesitate in saying, “Definitely, it’s BlueWater Day Spa. It’s my favorite spa every time I need to relax, recharge — you know, just breathe.”

Among his top picks are the traditional Balinese Massage and Thai Yoga.

“When it comes to the Balinese Massage, it’s a lifesaver. In our line of work, there’s taping, VR shoots, lights, rehearsals, workshops — it really builds up the tension. And then there’s traffic, tight schedules — it can all lead to burnout. So, when I feel that way, I go to BlueWater Day Spa for the traditional Balinese Massage,” he said.

“Of course, people who follow me on social media know I’m always working out. So when my muscles are sore or I’ve pushed myself too much, I go for the Thai Yoga Massage. It stretches me out, helps my body regain balance, and improves blood circulation. After that pamper session, I feel fully recharged and ready to face another week of challenges and activities,” he added.

Despite a packed schedule, Marquez makes self-care a top priority.

“In our industry, self-care is knowing when to pause. Celebrities often feel overwhelmed by blessings and opportunities, but we also need to know when to rest and protect ourselves. Our bodies are our temples,” he added.

Meanwhile, Choi, a member of K-pop group Golden Child, made his solo debut in the Philippines under Universal Records and GLXY Talent Management. He currently stars in GMA’s “Beauty Empire” alongside Barbie Forteza, Kyline Alcantara, and Sam Concepcion.

Choi shared his excitement upon discovering BlueWater’s signature services.

“The traditional Filipino massage was new to me, but it was really good — I fell asleep halfway through. I’d also like to try the Korean HIFU treatment. It’s popular in Korea and helps define the face. That’s something I’m curious about,” Choi added.

As for his personal relaxation routine, he shared, “I usually bring a comfort massage machine for my legs and neck. I also use a skin pack or mask pack, and moisturizing cream. I do that when I’m resting in the hotel or in my room — usually during a bath.”

Though often seen as reserved, Choi shared a fun fact about himself, “I like singing. Usually, I’m very calm, but sometimes I get really excited when I sing a lot. Maybe my fans know that, but not everyone.”

In fact, he recently released his first all-Filipino single titled “Nakaraang Buhay” under Universal Records.

BlueWater Day Spa President and CEO Mary Simisim said the spa’s longevity is rooted in quality and commitment.

“Trends come and go, but our commitment to consistent, professional care stays the same,” she said.

Operations Manager Nancy Go added, “Bringing in an international ambassador like Bo Min isn’t just a PR move. It reflects the truth — that BlueWater Day Spa offers treatments and service standards that meet global expectations.”

As part of its anniversary celebration, the spa is offering a limited-time Afternoon Promo with up to 20 percent off on selected services until September 17 at its branches in Greenhills, Banawe in Quezon City, and Estancia Mall in Pasig.
