Part of his core memories back in 2022 was to be introduced as a member of Sparkada, or the Sparkle barkada. Vince Maristela belonged to the 17 lucky new talents who attended intense workshops to make them limelight ready.

From there, he had shown his mettle in acting.

This year, Vince was tapped as one of the 10 Kapuso stars to enter Big Brother’s house for its “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.”

Becoming a Sparkle “PBB” housemate forms part of his recent core memories, showbiz journey-wise.

“I’m so overwhelmed by all the opportunities that are coming my way,” said Vince in a chat with The STAR, following the media call that celebrated the successful stints of all the GMA housemates. The event also signaled that they are ready to face and foray into a new chapter in their entertainment careers.

The opportunities he was referring to were the roles Vince secured in the now-airing GMA Prime drama-fantasy, “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre,” and the forthcoming afternoon drama series, “Hating Kapatid.”

“I’m part of ‘Encantadia (Chronicles): Sang’gre’ as Akiro, the love interest of Bianca (Umali’s character),” shared he. Akiro is the nerdy childhood friend of Bianca’s Terra and he is aware of her superpowers. In a social media post, Vince wrote that he considered the role as one of his most unforgettable ones.

“I’m taping for ‘Hating Kapatid.’ Cassy (Legaspi) is my partner in it,” continued he. “Ngayon, siguro naghihintay lang din ako (for now, I’ll be waiting for other opportunities) and I’m also really thankful for the endorsements like Penshoppe that trust me. They got me as an endorser, and I just got back from Korea. We had a shoot there.”

Aside from waiting for other work opportunities, Vince is also looking at opportunities to acquire and explore creative skills such as vlogging that will in one way or another boost his career.

He also shared that his “Encantadia Chronicles” character, Akiro, has already been introduced to the audiences.

“Hindi ko lang alam kung kailan mag-ta-transition sa mundo ng Encantadia (I’m not just privy to when he will transition to the realm of Encantadia),” said Vince about the path Akiro may tread on in the future.

As for landing a role in “Hating Kapatid,” Vince recalled, “When I left Big Brother’s house, I got cast in the project. Ngayon, inaaral ko pa lang yung script… binabasa ko pa lang yung plot (now, I’m still studying the script and reading about the plot).”

Based on his understanding of the story, Vince’s character is the love interest of Cassy’s character.

“I’m super excited about my teamup with Cassy. Sobrang genuine yung tao at feeling comfortable lang din ako na maka-trabaho siya (She’s very genuine as a person, and I’m comfortable working with her).”

Meanwhile, asked about the lessons he had learned while staying at “Bahay ni Kuya,” Vince replied, “Of course, na-push ako sa comfort zone ko dun (I was pushed out of my comfort zone there) and I think dun ko nakita yung growth ko (that was where I saw my growth). Here in the outside world, siguro hindi na ako matatakot kapag meron akong takot na gawin (perhaps, I will no longer be afraid to do things that I’m scared of trying). I think that’s the signal to do it.”

“Duon nangyayari yung growth (growth also happens when you face your fear). Isa yun sa mga pinaka-tumatak sa akin ‘pag pasok pa lang hanggang sa ‘pag labas (It’s one of the lessons that have made a mark on me). At hindi lang yun, siyempre, kasama na dun yung pakikisama (And that’s not the only lesson learned; there’s also the importance of getting along with everybody). Kilalanin yung mga tao ng maayos (You also need to properly get to know people).”

With his stint in “PBB: Celebrity Collab Edition” and the acting and endorsement assignments,

Vince is thankful and appreciative.

All this serves as his stepping stone to bigger things that are about to come.

“I wanna push myself in terms of the craft, (which is) acting,” said Vince, who has been inspired by established Kapuso actors Dingdong Dantes and Alden Richards.

By listening to him, one could say that Vince will patiently wait for the opportunities, think of what else he can do, broaden his creative horizons and savor every moment at this point in his career.
