President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Saturday evening called for a peaceful resolution over the escalating conflict between Thailand and Cambodia, both members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
In a statement, Mr. Marcos urged both nations to pursue diplomatic channels and uphold the ASEAN principles of regional cooperation and stability.
“The Philippines views with concern the ongoing conflict between our two fellow ASEAN Member States and urge them to resolve the dispute in accordance with international law and the peaceful settlement of disputes,” he said.
The president said the country is ready to assist “in any way to restore peace,” to help de-escalate the situation.
As of July 27, there are 32 people who already died with over 130 injured in both Thailand and Cambodia as their border clashes turned for the worse since July 24, 2025.
