MANILA, Philippines– Virtual singer Hatsune Miku is set to hold her first concert in the Philippines in November as part of her Asian tour.
The concert, part of the “Miku Expo 2025 Asia” tour, is slated to be held on November 16 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, with further information to be released in the coming months.
Other Asian cities that Miku will perform include Bangkok, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Seoul.
Miku, developed by Crypton Future Media, was first developed as a music software that allowed a computer to “sing” by entering lyrics and melodies, but later became a cultural phenomenon as a character in itself.
The virtual character has already made sold out performances not only in Japan but also worldwide, including a performance in Coachella, in 2024.
The character is also featured in the game “Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage!” which was the basis of the anime movie “Colorful Stage! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing” which had a four-week cinema run in the Philippines.
