GMA Network Inc. posted a net income after tax of P2 billion for the first half (H1) of 2025, more than triple the P602 million recorded a year earlier following a surge in election-related advertising revenues and growth in production services.
In a disclosure on Wednesday, GMA said its consolidated revenues jumped 29.5 percent year on year to P10.1 billion from P7.8 billion.
Of this figure, advertising revenues contributed P9.3 billion, buoyed by election-related placements ahead of the May midterm elections and increased demand for production and other services.
The higher revenues led the network’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization to climb 91 percent to P3.8 billion.
Operating expenses, meanwhile, increased by 6 percent to P7.6 billion on higher cash and noncash production costs as well as general and administrative expenses.
GMA said its strong financial results were further supported by its continued ratings dominance nationwide during the first half of the year.
Nielsen data showed that its flagship public affairs program “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” was the most-watched show in urban Philippines for the second quarter of 2025.
The network’s election coverage, “Eleksyon 2025: The GMA Integrated News Coverage,” was also said to have drawn the highest viewership both on-air and online.
In the digital sphere, GMA said it solidified its leadership by placing 15th in the Tubular Leadership Worldwide rankings for June 2025 and remained the top-performing media company in the Entertainment and Media category in Southeast Asia. GMA Network shares rose 35 centavos, or 6.74 percent, to close at P5.54 on Wednesday amid a 0.11-percent drop for the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index.
