Relatives of the “missing sabungeros” today filed murder and serious illegal detention complaints against gaming tycoon Charlie “Atong” Ang before the Department of Justice (DOJ) in connection with the disappearances of their kin.
Philippine National Police chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III and e-sabong whistleblower Julie “Dondon” Patidongan also arrived at the DOJ’s offices.
“Of course, we are happy [finally filing the complaint] because we have waited four years for this,” Ryan Bautista, brother of missing sabungero Michael Bautista, told justice reporters.
On Tuesday, Philippine Coast Guard divers retrieved a human skull from Taal Lake amid the search and retrieval operations for the “missing sabungeros,” Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla confirmed.
The skull is only the latest among several human bones fished out of the sprawling lake since search efforts began last month, bolstering Patidongan’s claim that murdered people were indeed dumped there.
