“Silver Dollar Road” is currently trending on Amazon Prime Video. The documentary joined the streaming service on Oct. 20 after a limited theatrical release and world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

The film focuses on one Black family’s decades-long battle to maintain ownership of their property on the North Carolina coast and the disturbing legal history around Black land theft.

Based on Lizzie Presser’s ProPublica article “Kicked Off The Land,” “Silver Dollar Road” was directed by Raoul Peck, whose 2016 documentary “I Am Not Your Negro” was nominated for an Academy Award.
