Lindsay Hoyle says the work of the new foreign secretary will be scrutinised by the Commons, even though David Cameron is no longer a member.
Now Lord Cameron, he stood down as an MP after the Brexit referendum in 2016, but he was made a peer on being appointed to the role previously held by James Cleverly.
The Speaker said that “given the gravity of the current international situation” it was important that the work of the Foreign Office can be held accountable, and was waiting to hear from the government how this would work.
