The popular ABS-CBN youth series “Zoomers” is returning for a second season, featuring a groundbreaking storyline involving a girls’ love (GL) triangle plot. Known for its compelling exploration of social issues, the show aims to introduce a fresh and unique storyline.

Season 2 features Krystl Ball, Kei Kurosawa, and Hadiya Santos in the central roles of the GL triangle, bringing their characters to life in an emotionally charged narrative. At a media conference, Ball expressed her enthusiasm for the storyline, highlighting the rarity of such plots in television.

“For us three, we were so excited because it’s not always that you see a love triangle in a GL story, so I’m thrilled I had the opportunity to work with Hadiya and Kei on this. I think we did a good job, and I can’t wait to showcase what we have to offer to the audience,” Ball said.

“There is definitely pressure because we want to make sure we portray the roles correctly. We worked double time and harder to do justice to our characters and accurately represent people like them,” she stated.

Santos echoed Kurosawa’s sentiments, stressing the collaborative effort among the trio and the authenticity of their roles.

Despite concerns about being typecast in GL-themed projects, Ball remains optimistic about diverse opportunities in the future.

“We are not afraid of being typecast. We take whatever opportunities come “our way, and we are open to exploring different genres and roles,” Ball remarked.

Since its premiere on Monday, July 1, the return of “Zoomers” has been met with excitement by both the cast and fans.

Meanwhile, the show’s second season renewal was a pleasant surprise for the show’s director, Theodore Boborol, who has only been inspired to tackle even more significant social issues in the upcoming episodes.

“In this season, apart from bigger social issues that we will inject into the script, we will delve into how these actors actually deeply understand each character because they really studied them,” Alambra noted.

The cast of Zoomers Season 2 also includes Harvey Bautista, Criza Taa, Ralph De Leon, Luis Veraperez, Zach Castaneda, Luke Alford, Erika Davis, Argel Saycon and Zabel Amberth. It is now available on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, TV5, and the ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube Channel.
