TikTok Shop, in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), hosted Camp Asenso, a two-day event designed to equip micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with the skills to thrive in the digital age.

The program provided comprehensive training on navigating TikTok Shop and valuable lessons that will empower MSMEs to leverage the power of e-commerce and live streaming for business growth.

Trade undersecretary Cristina Roque emphasized the importance of digitalization for Philippine businesses and the potential of Camp Asenso to equip MSMEs with the skills needed to achieve sustained growth and success.

Nearly 400 TikTok Shop sellers participated in the program. The event also featured presentations by successful brands like Casi’s Mushroom Chicharon and Tiny Buds. These companies shared their experiences using TikTok Shop to expand their reach and scale their operations.

Josemartin Casillano of Casi’s Mushroom Chicharon discussed the importance of storytelling in customer engagement while Lorin Tan of Tiny Buds shared her brand’s experience and offered practical tips for navigating the dynamic digital landscape.

Category lead for F&B at TikTok Shop Niks Fojas stressed the platform’s dedication to empowering businesses of all sizes, particularly MSMEs.

“Our mission is to provide entrepreneurs with the tools and platforms needed to expand reach and grow in this digital age. We will continue to roll out initiatives designed to help our MSMEs succeed, through initiatives such as educational programs, enhanced seller support and campaigns,” she said.

TikTok Shop’s dedication to MSMEs is evident in initiatives like the “Buy Local, Shop Local” campaign, an effort promoting local businesses while contributing to the growth of the Philippine e-commerce landscape.
