Binibining Pilipinas 2024 2nd runner-up Trisha Martinez graced the coronation night in a dazzling pink piece designed by fashion designer Louis Pangilinan. Martinez’s stylist, Darryl Penaredondo, took to Instagram to share how it was made.

The stylist said that the inspiration for the ethereal gown was Mayari, the goddess of beauty and strength from Philippine Mythology, who was also associated with the moon.

The gown features numerous beads and crystals that were embroidered by hand as well as a side high-slit and gloves which had pink flowy fabric meant to pay homage to the goddess who was known to dance under the moonlight.

“Pink shows a woman’s adventure and growth to a future ripen fortune. Just like the power this Mayari gown beholds, it exudes the inner strength and compassion of Binibining Filipina woman,” said Penaredondo.

Pangilinan is a Filipino designer who has crafted various gowns for beauty queens from all around the world, with some of the recent ones being Martinez, Miss World Malta Nicole Espiteri, Miss Earth 2023 Drita Ziri, and many others.
