Anjo and Jomari’s mom overjoyed by sons’ reconciliation

IT’S always the parents who are the world’s happiest creatures to see their feuding children settle their differences.

This is exactly what Vicky Garchitorena felt on New Year’s Eve when her kids Anjo and Jomari Yllana had finally buried the hatchet after nearly two years.

In hindsight, Anjo — who was then gunning for a congressional seat in his native Camarines Sur in the 2022 national/local polls — had alleged in his interviews that his youngest brother had “pocketed” his campaign funds. Anjo had gone as far as implicating Jomari’s then-girlfriend Abby Viduya (now his wife).

The couple, however, flatly, if vehemently denied they had anything to do with it.

Caught in a financial bind, Anjo had no other recourse but to withdraw his political bid last minute.

Since then, Anjo and Jomari’s brotherly relationship had been strained.

Asserting his birthright, Anjo vowed he’d never be the one to initiate a reconciliation with Jomari. But neither was he fiercely hostile.

As he’d always say, “I promised our father before he passed away that I’d take good care of my brothers.”

Then came New Year’s eve.

The Yllana family reunion-cum-dinner was held at the residence of Ryan (now Paranaque alderman).

Anjo humbly told the press at a mediacon in January that it was he who offered the proverbial olive branch to Jomari.

He recounted: “I said ‘hi,’ it was as simple as that. Jomari [who came with Abby in tow] said ‘hi,’ too.”

Anjo said there was no need to dredge up the cause of his falling out with Jomari, “Past is past. I think it’s time we moved forward. In fact, I’ve long before forgotten the issue between us!”

As a sign of goodwill, although belated he even congratulated both Jomari and Abby.

What ensued after, Anjo shared, was an engaging, limitless “kulitan” reminiscent of old times.

The one person who emerged as the most overjoyed over what could pass for a scene in a heart-tugging teleserye was, of course, their mother Vicky who couldn’t help but well up.

Indeed, there was no better, less noisy way to welcome 2024 than that!

GUESS WHO? Many who’ve heard this story about a fine mestizo actor (FMA) couldn’t help but feel nonplussed over his recent visit at a hotel somewhere in Batangas.

Sources swear that a good-looking hotel staff (HS) caught the fancy of the FMA.

Unable to control himself, the FMA wasted no time in befriending the HS who had already sensed what he was up to. So persistent was the FMA that he had confessed to liking the HS — to the point of wanting to “roll in the hay” with him.

“He was overly confident he’d easily win the HS ‘coz for one, he’s a popular actor. Second, the FMA is just as handsome,” disclosed the hotel-based sources who thought he was straight.

Luck, however, eluded the FMA who came back to Manila a sore loser. It was learned that hitting off with gay men — regardless of looks and stature — isn’t the HS’ thing.

Yes, even if the FMA has won a number of acting awards.
