MANILA, Philippines — Eight people, including Filipinos and foreigners, have been tagged in the kidnapping and murder of two Chinese business executives, whose remains were found in Camarines Sur on June 24, according to the Philippine National Police.

PNP chief information officer Col. Jean Fajardo said the Anti-Kidnapping Group has the names of suspects who killed Xia Fu and Jimmy Sing Sun.

Fajardo refused to reveal the names of the suspects so as not to compromise the ongoing investigation.

“The Chinese embassy in Manila and the victims’ families requested not to divulge too much information about the investigation,” Fajardo said.

Initial investigation showed the victims could have met with some of the suspects abroad.

Probers expressed belief that the suspects invited the victims to visit the Philippines.

Some of the Filipino suspects picked up the victims at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on June 20.

Four days later, the victims’ remains were found in a ravine in Barangay Patitinan in Sagnay town.

The victims were killed even as the family of one of them reportedly paid three million yuan (about P24 million) in ransom.
