VICE President Sara Duterte has yet to confirm her attendance at the third State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on July 22.
“We are still waiting for confirmation from the vice president,” House of Representatives Secretary General Reginald Velasco told reporters on Tuesday.
Duterte has resigned as education secretary, effective July 19.
Velasco said SONA attendees were given ample time to confirm their attendance.
“They can confirm at the last minute, or they can cancel at the last minute,” he said.
SONA guests include former presidents, former vice presidents, former senate presidents and former House speakers.
“And so far, we have not received confirmation from the former president,” Velasco added, referring to former president Rodrigo Duterte.
Former vice presidents Leni Robredo and Jejomar Binay sent their regrets, Velasco said.
He said 47 ambassadors have confirmed their attendance.
