Marian Rivera’s witty response to Century Tuna Superbods #Best You Ever 2024 grand winner Jether Palomo trended online after he asked for an English translation of her question on Tuesday’s grand finals night.
GMA Network’s Primetime Queen, who was among the judges at the premier fitness competition, initially asked Palomo — “Dumami ang followers mo sa social media nu’ng naging finalist ka. Papaano mo gagamitin ang opportunity na ito kahit natapos na ang competition na ito?” — to which he respectfully replied, “I’m sorry, can I take that in English, please?” unable to understand the question.
Rivera gamely responded to the unexpected request, saying, “I will try my best. Are you ready for this?” delighting the entire Marriott Grand Ballroom, keeping everyone in amused anticipation.
“Listen very carefully!” she bade Palermo, clearly stating, “Here’s my question: “Your social media following grew when you became a finalist. How will you use this opportunity even after your Superbods journey?”
The audience erupted in loud cheers.
In her Instagram Story following the competition, Rivera uploaded a screengrab of X’s (formerly Twitter) trending list, complete with three heart emojis.
Not long after, Rivera’s husband Dingdong Dantes took to Instagram and posted a sweet message supporting his wife: “Hindi lang ang iyong panlabas na kagandahan ang nagningning kagabi, kundi pati na rin ang natural mong talento sa pagpapasaya at pagpukaw sa puso ng mga Pilipino (Not only did your outer beauty shine last night, but your natural talent in bringing joy and touching the hearts of Filipinos as well).”
Dantes just as wittily ended his post, writing, “P.S. ‘Di kailangang i-translate sa ingles, gets niyo na ‘to (No need to translate this into English. Everyone gets it).”
Rivera then replied to Dantes in the comments section, “Love you mahal ko. Sa susunod ikaw na tatawagan ko para mag translate (I love you, my dear. Next time, I will call you to do the translation)!”
