A Cessna 152 plane made a rough landing at Bulacan’s Plaridel Airport before crashing into a residential property on Saturday, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.
Aboard the plane were a pilot and a student pilot.
”The aircraft attempted to initiate a missed approach but was unable to do so due to insufficient airspeed. Eventually, it surpassed the end of runway 35 and subsequently collided with both the perimeter fence and a nearby residential property,” the CAAP said in a statement, adding the incident happened around 1:50 p.m.
One of the pilots sustained minor injuries, while the other pilot was unhurt.
There were also no occupants inside the affected house during the incident.
“CAAP’s Licensing and Certification Department (LCD) and Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board (AAIIB) will conduct separate investigations of the incident,” the statement added.
A similar incident occurred in February when a Cessna 152 plane on a training flight crashed on a field in Malolos, Bulacan, after taking off from Plaridel.
The aircraft reportedly suffered engine failure on its way to Subic, Zambales.
