To amplify the importance of pollution control and management, non-public relations environmental management practitioners and officers took part in a coaching activity that promotes a deeper understanding of the local media landscape and effective interaction with the media.

The De La Salle Philippines Schools spearheaded the project, dubbed Media Training Course (MTC) 101, together with community partners. This initiative provided participants techniques in navigating media interviews, press conferences, and other media-related engagements.

The training course held on June 28 at the De La Salle Zobel-Vermosa Campus included lectures and on-the-spot demonstrations guided by invited media professionals.

These were led by former ABS-CBN reporter Zhander Cayabyab, Department of Transportation Chief of Communications and Commuter Affairs Ana Dominique Consulta, and Lasallian Institute For the Environment (LIFE) national coordinator Julius Gopez.

“This course will prepare pollution control officers and managing heads in conducting face-to-face ambush or surprise interviews for radio channels, televisions, or even digital media platforms,” LIFE director Mark Joseph Tinao explained.

The project follows the 10 ways on how schools can adapt the local and international standard and even trends in managing campuses.

These include Regulatory Compliance, Carbon Neutrality, Occupational Safety and Health, Disaster Risk and Reduction Management, Biodiversity, Green Procurement, Green Building, and Data and Water Resources Management. With Rex Arcadio R. San Diego II
