MANILA, Philippines — A De Haviland Dash 8-400 aircraft of Philippine Airlines (PAL) overshot the runway of Busuanga Airport on Sunday afternoon.
PAL spokesman Cielo Villaluna said that the 86-seater turboprop aircraft took off from Mactan Airport at 1:44 p.m. and landed in Busuanga Airport at 2:51 p.m. when it strayed off the runway.
Villaluna said that as of 3:40 p.m., all 53 passengers and four flight crew members deplaned safely, with no injuries reported.
“We appreciate the patience and understanding of the passengers of flight PR2680 and those affected by the subsequent disruptions,” PAL said.
The airline management added that they are working closely with the airport authorities to restore normal operations in Busuanga.
