THE Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said ongoing maintenance work would cause a slight delay in the releasing of passports.
A DFA advisory on Wednesday said there would be delays in the release of passports for those who applied last week due to system downtime resulting from the ongoing maintenance work by its service provider, APO Production Unit Inc.
“As a result, a few days of delay in the delivery and release of passports is expected,” the DFA posted on X (formerly Twitter).

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your cooperation and understanding,” it added.
On July 12, the DFA advised the public that its passport online appointment system was under preventive maintenance due to technical issues.
The public was advised to check updates on the agency’s website and its official social media accounts on X, Facebook and Instagram.
