(UPDATE) THE National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has reported that seven individuals died as a result of a recent flooding in Mindanao.
Based on NDRRMC report issued Wednesday afternoon, Zamboanga Peninsula reported four deaths, while Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) recorded one death each as these areas were submerged under massive flooding following thunderstorms and inter-tropical convergence zone.
Some 482,464 individuals or 99,186 families from 378 villages in Regions 9, 10, 11, 12 (Soccsksargen) and BARMM were affected by the floods.
A total of 111 houses amounting to P2,116,000 were also damaged.
Of the said number, 65 were partially destroyed while 46 were totally destroyed.
The floods also left P17,879,687 worth of damage to agriculture.
The infrastructure was not spared with an estimated damage reaching P700,000.
Some 4,258 families were given cash assistance amounting to P13,530,224.
