The Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 93 issued the warrant on July 21, finding probable cause to proceed with trial. Judge Cherry Chiara Hernando set bail at P48,000 each.

The case stems from a complaint Alonzo filed in May 2024, accusing Fermin and her co-hosts of spreading “false, malicious, and damaging” statements on their online program.

At the time, Alonzo was in the public eye following her breakup with actor Dominic Roque, which Fermin and her co-hosts discussed on air. They also made claims regarding Alonzo’s alleged tax issues and a labor complaint involving a former driver.

Despite the case, Fermin stood by the content of their show, saying it was reported fairly and urging Alonzo not to be overly sensitive.

Alonzo has also filed separate libel complaint against Ogie Diaz.

Diaz then submitted a 70-page counter-affidavit before Prosecutor Edward Seijo, challenging Alonzo’s complaint. However, there has been no public update on whether the case has also moved to the Quezon City Regional Trial Court.
