MANILA, Philippines — Fresh off a string of acclaimed international projects, Dolly de Leon, Philippines’ very own Golden Globe and British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Bafta) nominee, is set to appear alongside Tatiana Maslany in the upcoming Apple TV+ series “Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed.”
Produced by CreaZion Studios and created by David Rosen (Citadel), the half-hour dark comedy thriller follows a newly divorced mother (Maslany) who plunges into a chaotic world of blackmail, murder and youth soccer.
De Leon takes on a series regular role as Detective Sofia Gonzalez.
“There’s nothing like the prospect of working with people whose work you admire — Hunters, Orphan Black, The Marvel Cinematic Universe! I’m beyond excited!” said de Leon in an official statement.
De Leon rose to international prominence in Ruben Östlund’s “Triangle of Sadness” (2022), portraying the role of Abigail — a cleaning lady turned survivalist leader. She became the first Filipino actor nominated for a Golden Globe and a Bafta in any category and won the Guldbagge Award and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Performance.
She later appeared in Season 2 of Hulu’s “Nine Perfect Strangers,” acting opposite Nicole Kidman in the adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s novel.
