Bentria Productions makes its debut in stage play production with “Walong Libong Piso,” a psychological one-character play written and directed by Dante Balboa.
The stage production will run on August 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, and 16 at Teatrino Promenade, Greenhills. It will showcase some of today’s leading actors – Paolo Gumabao, Drei Arias, Jhon Mark Marci, and Juan Paolo Calma.
Among the featured actors is Jhon Mark Marcia, known as a member of the boy group Magic Voyz.
Transitioning from music to theater, Marcia has undergone consistent training to prepare for the demands of live performance.
“I’ve been training consistently to make sure I’m stage-ready, not just in terms of physique, but stamina and posture too,” Marcia shared.
“I’m also spending a lot of time diving into the character — understanding his emotions, backstory, and how he moves and speaks. It’s about embodying the role fully, not just performing it,” he added.
According to Marcia, the experience of working on a stage play is sharpening his artistry. Theater requires heightened presence, awareness of body language, vocal control, and emotional nuance. Each rehearsal builds confidence and deepens his connection to the role.
The upcoming performance also places a spotlight on physical presence. Marcia, who maintains an active lifestyle, has been especially mindful of fitness in the lead-up to the show. Beyond aesthetics, he believes that a well-maintained physique can be a significant asset in the visual arts and performance industry.
The actor shared that performing on stage has always been a dream. For him, there’s something magical about live storytelling, and this role marks a full-circle moment in his artistic journey.
Walong Libong Piso is the debut theatrical production of Bentria Productions, a creative company known for producing independent films and staging live concerts.
