MANILA, Philippines — Are they dating or just hanging out? This was the question that kept the internet abuzz since pop star Katy Perry and former Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have been spotted dining out in Canada.
Celerity news site TMZ first reported the signing on Tuesday, July 29, with an exclusive video of the two enjoying dinner at the Le Violon restaurant in Montreal.
However, a report from “The Guardian” — citing a communications consultant for the restaurant — said they spent two hours at dinner on Monday night but with “no visual signs of PDA or anything.”

TMZ later reported that the dinner was only one of the three activities Perry and Trudeau shared on Monday. They were spotted strolling Mount Royal Park with the singer’s pet dog in the afternoon and leaving Montreal’s Taverne Atlantic after a post-dinner drink.
Perry is currently in Canada for her “The Lifetimes Tour,” with multiple stops in the country.
No statement from either of the two has been made publicly.
Perry, 40, recently broke off with actor Orlando Bloom, her partner of nine years and with whom she shares a daughter.
Trudeau, meanwhile, separated from his wife of 18 year, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, in 2023. The two have three kids together.
