TANDUAY is one of the world’s best-selling rum brands based on a global ranking, with over 23.7 million 9-liter cases sold in 2024 from 23.6 million in 2023.

“Everyone loves a good comeback story, and Tanduay’s bounce back last year is a classic example,” said The Spirits Business, which publishes The Brand Champions report that ranks the world’s top-performing spirits.

Tanduay said that flagship product Tanduay 5 Years remained the cornerstone of the brand’s growth, which was also backed by strong performances of Tanduay Light and Tanduay Select.

The Spirits Business said Tanduay was the only rum brand to make it to its Top 10 Best-Selling Brand Champions list, rising to 7th from the previous 9th place. “Being recognized as a brand champion is a great honor,” Tanduay Distillers Chief Operating Officer Kyle Tan said in a statement.

“It’s a testament to the hard work of our team, the support of our customers and the strength of our brand values,” he added.

“In an increasingly competitive and evolving spirits market, this recognition reinforces our commitment to quality, innovation and tradition of excellence. It inspires us to continue raising the bar and delivering exceptional products.”

Tanduay was also the only Filipino brand to earn a place among The Spirits Business’ Brand Champions.

“It’s a moment of immense pride for us to see a homegrown Philippine brand standing alongside the biggest names in the global spirits industry,” Tan said.

“This recognition is not just a win for Tanduay, it’s a win for the Filipino.”

While the Philippines remains its stronghold, Tanduay said it was also seeing steady growth in rum markets in the United States, Belgium, Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates.

Tanduay said it was also gearing up for a significant expansion into the premium segment, with products tailored for both local and international upper market segments. Tanduay posted a first-half net income of P528 million, more than double the P255 million recorded a year earlier. This was said to have been driven by a 22-percent rise in net revenues to P7.19 billion from P5.9 billion previously.

Shares of Tanduay’s parent firm LT Group Inc. were unchanged on Wednesday at P13.10 apiece.
